Interview with Kix founding Guitarist Brian Forsythe

I’m not saying Kix was a glam band, because they were most certainly not…but, of all the bands to come out of the 80′s, Kix is one of the best you’ll see live. And I’ve seen them all. I got my start with Midnite Dynamite, and I was a fan ever since. We thank Brian “Damage” Forsythe for taking the opportunity to speak with us about all things Kix, and their first record in nearly two decades, Rock Your Face Off. -Andrew

Rex Brown of Kill Devil Hill (ex-Pantera, ex-Down) Interview

There isn’t a longtime visitor to this site that does not know the name Rex Brown. Most of us grew up blasting Pantera at earsplitting volumes. I went through 3 or 4 copies of Vulgar Display of Power. Some copies were stolen by friends, while some were played to death…literally. Rex Brown is truly a legend in the music business. If not for Metallica and Pantera, I might just be listening to Adelita’s Way or Pop Evil right now. Rex’s new band, Kill Devil Hill is worth your time investigating. It was an honor to have him on the show.

John Connolly of Sevendust Interview & Live Show Review

On April 15, 2014 Sevendust released their latest studio effort, titled Time Travelers & Bonfires. This acoustic offering blends the Sevendust history with a twist of stripped down acoustic instruments.

John Connolly marks the 4th Sevendust member we’ve had on our show and just like his fellow bandmates, he was a terrific guest and exemplified everything we appreciate about these guys.

BT: The Boss, Codeine, Dramarama, Kermit the Frog

By the time you’re done reading this post, you’re going to think I need a hug. You might even think I need an intervention. I assure you I’m not depressed. If you guys want to go in the direction of melancholia, I can certainly take you there. Perhaps in the next one.

Failure – Hot off their show in Los Angeles at the El Rey – a Quick Story

A few weeks back, I’m talking to Darius and he says to me, “Dude, Failure is doing an L.A. show.” It shortly turned into, “Dude, Failure is playing the El Rey.” Then, “Dude, Failure sold out the El Rey in minutes.” Last night was Failure’s first show in a decade and a half, so everything came full circle. Now, this band who was mentioned to us, almost in passing, at the end of an All Knowing Force interview, has taken music center stage in both our lives.

Motley Crue: Final Tour Announced

“Like their music or not, they brought it for 30+ years. They always did it their way, and now, they’re going out on top. Motley was one of my first loves, and when I look back on it, seeing Dr. Feelgood on MTV was likely my gateway into exploring heavier music. What a ride it was, and I have nothing but love, respect, and admiration for their career.”

Interview with Buckcherry Guitarist Keith Nelson

This interview has never appeared on our new site. It was conducted back in 2006, right at the time 15 was exploding. Unfortunately, they’ve not been able to duplicate the success of 15 on their last three albums. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing the band live numerous times, in venues such as the Middle East in Cambridge, MA, the Webster in Hartford, Webster Hall, and Irving Plaza. In a live setting, they’re excellent, but with the quality of the last three albums, I’m not really looking forward to what comes next.

Interview with Donald Carpenter “DC” of Eye Empire

I feel very good about Eye Empire. With this new record and their burgeoning reputation as one of the best live bands in metal, I’m expecting a huge 2014 for the band. Absolutely huge.

Jon Siebels – Guitarist and Founding Member of Eve 6 Interview

We encourage all our listeners to check out this interview, and more important, get out to an Eve 6 show. “Oh, aren’t they that ‘Inside Out’ band?” Or, “Didn’t they play that ‘Here’s to the Night’ song?” Forget that. Their live show will make you forget those songs even exist. It doesn’t get much more infectious than Eve 6. Masterful live.
