Interview with Clint Lowery of Call Me No One and Sevendust
When I heard that Clint Lowery and Morgan Rose from Sevendust were starting a side project that was going to be a complete rock band, I was pretty excited and very anxious to hear the results. I’ve always been a fan of Clint’s vocals in Sevendust and his stripped down Hello Demons… Meet Skeletons project. This is obviously a different venture. Clint Lowery, front and center, in a new rock group called Call Me No One.
If you’re a Sevendust fan and reading this while rolling your eyes and thinking, “Whatever, it’s not Sevendust. This is a waste of time and why can’t they just put out another Sevendust record, etc, etc,” let me tell you something…. Stop complaining.
Sevendust released 8 studio records and played more shows in this country and around the world than 99% of rock bands today. While most of us get to enjoy the occasional quiet evening at home, a date with our significant other or a night out at a ballgame with friends, Sevendust was more than likely on the road or in the studio and away from their families.
It’s also worthwhile to note that stepping outside of the same group of guys and playing some different music might not just be stimulating but also therapeutic. Side projects like Call Me No One and John and Vinnie’s (also from Sevendust) Projected could actually benefit Sevendust. The guys won’t burn out as quickly and can enter the studio refreshed when the time is right.
Call Me No One’s debut album, Last Parade, was released on June 5th. I’m such a fan of Clint Lowery’s writing and vocals that I remained confident that the record that would stand on its own amongst the Sevendust catalog. Last Parade does just that. Clint Lowery and Morgan Rose should be very proud of this effort. The first single is called “Biggest Fan” and is hopefully getting some love from your favorite rock radio station.
Clint joined our program on the heels of Call Me No One’s very first live performance on 7/27 at Piere’s in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He didn’t have much time but we squeezed in a lot of discussion and I think it resulted in a great spot.
We are excited to promote Call Me No One and give Last Parade our full stamp of approval. The band is also on one of the most fun tours this year. For a low priced ticket of around $18, you get to see the newly retooled Nonpoint, who are one of the greatest live bands you will ever see.
You also get Eye Empire, featuring Clint’s brother Corey and former All Knowing Force guest Donald Carpenter. For those who haven’t heard of this band, please check out their outstanding debut, Moment of Impact.
Finally, you get Call Me No One featuring Clint Lowery and Morgan Rose of Sevendust. That is one ridiculous lineup! Hopefully, once this tour wraps Call Me No One will add more nationwide dates so everyone can have a chance to check them out.
Thank you for reading and taking the time to listen. We appreciate your patronage and the fact that you support the glory that is heavy rock music.
