Interview with The Voice of Royal Bliss, Neal Middleton
By: Andrew
We welcome Neal Middleton of Utah-based hard rock band Royal Bliss to our air to discuss their eighth studio album, Waiting Out The Storm, as well as their current tour with Bobaflex.
This is a very basic album-promoting, what’s-going-on-lately interview. We also talked about his decision to try out for the NBC reality talent show called The Voice. There was also a comical story about Puddle Of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin and his antics at a show in Hartford, CT at the Webster Theater.
I’m a fan of the Royal Bliss catalog. It’s good, quality, honest rock ‘n roll. Here’s to hoping “Crazy” gets a chance.
You can download or stream the audio by clicking here. We cleaned up the audio the best we could, given that two of the three participants, Darius and Neal, joined us from cell phones. Darius recently relocated to Nashville, TN so we’ll have been back on a regular connection shortly.
You can also visit Royal Bliss at their official site. All navigating to their social media can be done from the there. They’re on tour now with Bobaflex.
For the time-being, Neal Middleton’s audition on The Voice can be viewed here. NBC will probably yank it down in the coming days.

These guys are a really good rock band. They aren’t bland though and Shinedown’s run isn’t done yet.

I don’t see what’s different about this band than every other rock band on the market in 2012. Blah.

It’s 2012. It’s impossible to not sound like anything else. I dig these guys. Neal sounds like a genuine dude and he’s got a roots rock killer voice.

I was at that show at the Webster. Wes was a wreck slobbering all over himself. Total douche.
That’s the last time Puddle of mudd sees a cent from me. I didn’t get to catch these guys tho.

I’ve heard a lot of that since we spoke to Neal. There doesn’t appear to be much middle ground with this band. Those that are aware of them love them, and those that have never heard of them. I don’t think I’ve spoken to someone that listened to a lot of their stuff and had a lukewarm reaction.

This band is nothing special. I went to You tube and don’t hear anything out of them that I can’t hear in anyone else.

Quality basic rock. He should have advanced on the Voice. F*ck Wes Scantlin.

If this song had Shinedown’s name on it it would be a Top 5 hit easy.
That pill would be a tough one to swallow if I were in Royal Bliss.
