The Things They Carried There’s Something I Can’t Tell Anyone CD Album Review
by: Andrew
I decided to review this one myself, which means you’re in for a treat. There’s Something I Can’t Tell Anyone was released in December 2010. If you’re into heavy, post-hardcore melodic screamo, look no further.
It’s an unpredictable, confrontational assault on the senses. Guided, yet frenetically chaotic. Screamo was never my thing, and granted, maybe this review should have been written by someone who has an appreciation for the genre, but There’s Something I Can’t Tell Anyone captivated me. That was not a run-on sentence, but a genuine sales pitch. Do you listen to the guy who writes a positive review to get on a band’s good side and promote the style of music, or do you listen to the guy who has a general distaste for their style of music but truly enjoys the record? I’ll take a helping of the latter, please.
Interchanging vocalists. Quality musicianship. Guitar played competently. A PhD level From Autumn To Ashes. Silverstein on steroids. Each song is unique in its sound and composition, yet the album flows effortlessly.
Let’s call a spade a spade. I hate this type of music. But when it’s done as competently and originally as this, I have to promote it.
The Things They Carried are the real deal. There’s Something I Can’t Tell Anyone is a phenomenal release.

The singer looks ridiculous. I guess it goes with the song.

Refreshing. “Let’s call a spade a spade. I hate this type of music. But when it’s done as competently and originally as this, I have to promote it.”
Call it like you see it partner.

Not my thing but can see what you mean in the review. I can’t see myself getting into this but I’ll take a listen.

Manic music.
Andrew’s reviews are all over the place but I must say I always know what he thinks. Nowadays some of these reviews I read say 6 billion words and I don’t know what the reviewer feels. Or even who the reviewer is.
I like this band. Very pop-oriented.

The musicianship here is very competent. The video sucks.
