Interview with James Hart of Burn Halo
by Darius:

The new Burn Halo record, titled Up From The Ashes, is out today (June 28th)! In celebration of this totally kick-ass rock record, we are bringing you this fantastic discussion we had with lead singer James Hart. James was on the show last year, when the band was readying for a tour with Tantric in support of their debut album. And even though we were high on the band, we weren’t too high on the prospects for this tour, and as James admits in this interview, we were correct.
BUT… Burn Halo did make an impact with that record and received solid airplay on radio, terrestrial and satellite. “Dirty Little Girl” did pretty well for itself, while the true barnburner on the record, “Save Me,” fell short of expectations. Nonetheless, Burn Halo’s debut was a terrific start for James’ first band since the dissolution of Orange County metalcore stalwarts Eighteen Visions.
We at All Knowing Force love the first Burn Halo record. We at All Knowing Force love the new Burn Halo record even more. It’s harder, edgier, and ready to kick you in the face. The first single, “Tear It Down,” sets the tone for the rest of the album, which is chock full of hard rock goodness. “Up From The Ashes,” “Dakota,” “Shine,” & “I Won’t Back Down” all deserve your attention. Hell, the entire record has the AKF stamp of approval. It’s out today so do yourselves a favor and get a copy. Burn Halo hits the road with Egypt Central soon for a limited run but we’re hoping more dates are added soon.

Burn Halo, yet another band that All Knowing Force loves and is happy to promote. James Hart, in my opinion, is one of the best frontmen in rock music. He has such a unique voice that lends itself well to many different styles. But what I like even more is the fact that he’s such a breeze to talk to in conversation. He’s completely honest and down to earth, knowledgeable about the industry and happy to share the realities of it with the public. We can’t wait to have him on again.
Burn Halo’s second album, Up From The Ashes, is out NOW. If you can’t find it in your local record store, you can find it online, on iTunes, and of course at one of the band’s live shows.

The picture on the front page is hideous.

He sounds dejected and definitely not like he did last year. This was rather boring.

James is pushing a CD and pushing a new band and sounds as if he’s promoting a McDonald’s he doesn’t want to work at. Liven up bro.

This show sucked. The first with him was better. The guys sounds bitter. B-O-R-I-N-G

I don’t think the show sucked at all but I will admit that James didn’t seem into this spot. It’s definitely a stark contrast to our interview with him last year. I’m pretty sure that he had a few interviews before (and probably afterward) so perhaps he was burned out. Regardless, I have been blasting the new Burn Halo record and love it more each time.
