All Knowing Force was pleased to welcome Ian Winterstein from the band Digital Summer to the program. Digital Summer is making waves with their infectious single, “Just Run”, from their debut album Counting The Hours. They recently toured with Drowning Pool and the mighty Sevendust and garnered a lot of fans in the process, including recent All Knowing Force guest and 7Dust drummer Morgan Rose.

We talked to Ian about Digital Summer and what it’s like being in a band that’s in the beginning stages of nationwide success. Ian had some good stories from the Sevendust tour as well. For those of you unfamiliar with Counting The Hours, I suggest picking it up; it’s worth your hard earned money.

Comes And Goes, the fourth album from platinum-selling Canadian rockers Default was released in the United States on October 26th. We spoke to Dallas Smith on release day about the new album, their upcoming tour with Hinder, and much more.

Sully deserves even more credit than previously given; he delivered a solo debut that goes against the Godsmack grain and still delivered.

“It’s hard not to think of Finger Eleven without thinking of the band they started as MuchMusic darlings, decked out in baggy jeans and prototypical late `90s/early `00s haircuts, with a unique sound falling somewhere between Our Lady Peace and Korn.”

“Quite possibly the band’s most dense and layered affair to date, it’s not likely to share the same mainstream success enjoyed by its predecessors, but that’s not an entirely bad thing. In a way, with “Invented,” Jimmy Eat World are your band again, and not necessarily everybody else’s.”

Shaun Glass first appeared on All Knowing Force in February 2006. I can’t believe it’s been almost five years. Time truly does fly. Dirge Within is currently writing the followup to their debut, Force Fed Lies. Since the release of that record, the band has toured with heavyweights Fear Factory (who are actual heavyweights – couldn’t resist), Trivium, Gwar, and Static-X. Shaun Glass is always an entertaining guest. Trust us. This show runs nearly two hours. Lots of Dirge Within talk at the beginning, lots of music talk at the end. Enjoy.

This is for all the classic rock fans out there, and for all the younger listeners who so desperately need a history lesson. James Williamson joined us to promote the re-release of his classic 1977 album with Iggy Pop, Kill City. At the time, it was a commercial failure, but in passing years, has been heralded a masterpiece. This interview was a true honor.

The one thing most amazing about Kill City is hearing countless other songs it’s influenced. The last time I listened to it prior to this interview was maybe 5 or 6 years ago. It’s definitely a breath of fresh air for those that love their music honest and raw.
