Cracker at Highline Ballroom Tonight!
By: Andrew Bilach
Cracker plays the Highline Ballroom tonight.
The first time I saw this band was in November 1996 at Irving Plaza when they were touring in support of The Golden Age. It’s great to hear they’re still soldiering on in 2009. Lead vocalist David Lower’s quirky, yet relevant songwriting has kept me a fan since Kerosene Hat. Most of you guys know them as the band that wrote “Low” – but there’s so much more. I’ve always been a fan of outlaw country, and you can hear its influences in most Cracker tracks. Tonight is a pretty loaded night in New York City, with Sponge at B.B. King’s, Dinosaur Jr in Brooklyn, and Cracker at Highline Ballroom. I’ve chosen to attend the latter, and hopefully some of you will do the same. They’re currently touring in support of their latest release, Sunrise In The Land Of Milk And Honey. Tickets are available and $23.00 at Highline Ballroom’s box office.

1 hit wonder!

Come all yee who only follow the radio. According to the radio – yes, but Cracker put out a killer record before KH and many more after. Don’t be so blind.
