One of the BEST ROCK BANDS I’ve Heard in YEARS! Interview with Neal from Royal Bliss!
by: Andrew Marten
It’s a bold statement to make, but Salt Lake City’s Royal Bliss is one of the best true rock bands going today. And boy do they have an interesting story. Their record Life In Between is nothing short of amazing. Even more amazing is that these guys have been around for 12 years. The mass media has embraced Nickelback. They’ve embraced Hinder. Anyone with ears and pride would rather die than support either of those bands. Royal Bliss is the real deal.

We caught up with Neal Middleton, songwriter and frontman for Royal Bliss as they were rolling into New York City to open a Buckcherry show at (The Fillmore at) Irving Plaza. The interview runs a little over 20 minutes.
Do you know what’s sad? I get excited when hearing competent rock music. How did it get to this point? Why has Chad Kroeger and his poodle haircut infected my life to this degree? How is Dave Matthews selling out arenas? Do people realize how absolutely ridiculous they look in those Jesus shoes?
Anyway, if you have had any of the thoughts above, Royal Bliss is the cure. You can legally download music by clicking the text link to the left.

I’m gonna take a wild guess. All these bands sound like Hinder and Nickelback. Buckcherry blatantly steal from AC/DC and Aerosmith so you’re going to see cover bands basically.
I agree with Oscar on this one. It’s 2009 though. Everything is coming from somewhere else at this point. After all these years it’s not possible to do something different. Hinder sucks and are all posers. This Pop Evil isn’t bad. I heard them on Sirius I think and they don’t reinvent the wheel but sound competent.
They shouldn’t have released the last album. It was rushed and Too Drunk was an obvious attempt to recreate Crazy Bitch. It’s funny because both Keith and Josh claimed Crazy Bitch wasn’t even supposed to be a single and then they released Too Drunk as the lead for Black Butterfly. Blah blah!
a nite of sex, drugs, and rock n roll. isn’t this shit dead already? but what they’re doing about the kids is admirable. read about it on bmouth but they never showed respect
Josh Todd’s solo release is better than Black Butterfly.
Josh Todd’s solo CD is better than Black Butterfly and is better than any BC album except 15. It was marketed poorly. Circles was a great track but Shine only made it as the single.
Ticket prices are high for this tour. I just went to Live Nation and with the bullshit fees you’re at $60 almost to get in. It was less for the package with Papa Roach at Starland. These guys are going to be nostalgia before long like that band Kix you idiots are raving about.
This is a great song. I was at the show Friday but got there after they took the stage. I’ve never heard of them and look forward to investigating them more. Thank you for always introducing me to new music even though I don’t agree with your politics.
generic rock crap, good interview tho, cash rules, bc blows
Generic rock? Alright. I guess you haven’t listened to their new record. Stop passing judgment on everything you haven’t heard. Life in Between as an entire album is crazy good. Anything but generic. Good interview.
Good interview.
why does it takes u 10 years to post shit? post the fucking shit already
i agree, why does it always take this site years to post stuff. come on drew
This is a damn good rock n roll record. I found all the songs on imeem. I want to see them live but they’re not coming around. I hope they blow up. This is way better than the other crap out there.
I just listed to this album and it blows Black Butterfly straight out the water.
I just listened to the album on Rhapsody and it’s pretty darn good. As Andrew said, this guy sounds very genuine. I wish I could see them live but we don’t get bands like this any more in NYC. Tour routing these days sucks.
I like the songs on the Myspace player but these bands are a dime a dozen. I like that they write their own songs.
this band rocks, thanks for introducing
Do you really think he drank 10,000 beers?
WHERE IS THE FUCKING AUDIO?
