Conversation with Jorge Rosado from Merauder Posted
By: Andrew Marten
If you like your music aggressive…
If you like your music heavy…
Then you need to take a listen to Merauder.
Master Killers: A Complete Anthology was released in 2007 on Century Media. It’s worth every penny.
This interview was recorded on April 16th, 2009 and aired later that evening. We were promoting their April 19th show at B.B. King’s in support of The Haunted. We caught up with Jorge Rosado, the voice of Merauder, while in Canada. Jorge was on a cell phone and the sound quality wasn’t the best, so take the audio for what it’s worth. At the end of the day, this is about awareness. It’s about discovering new music and promoting largely unpromoted bands. I’ve been a Merauder fan for the last decade, and nothing makes me happier than hearing, “Hey, checked these guys out and love their music.” That’s why we do this show.
New York City isn’t the New York City of old. I’m pretty sure in 10 years we’ll be going to club shows at the Walmart Center. CBGB’s, or CB’s as the faithful call it, L’amour in Brooklyn, and many other venues over the years have all closed their doors. In the audio, you’ll also hear us reference a place called Castle Heights in Jackson Heights, Queens. It was, or maybe still is, a rock club the size of your living room. I used to love going to this place because a 24-hour IHOP was down the block.
Anyway, Master Killers: A Complete Anthology, go grab it now, and if you ever have the chance to check these guys out, don’t miss the opportunity.
All Knowing Force thanks Jorge Rosado for his time. The term “keep it real” is used far too often to mean anything any more. But, if you’re looking for something “real” – look no further than Merauder.
*The audio begins a few seconds into the interview.

This guy sounds a little like Max Cavalera on vocals.

These guys were sick last night. I’m definitely getting some of their tracks. I’m actually happy I got to a show early for a change.

I never heard of this band until the show. It’s all about exposure. The’ve been around for like 20 years too. 1942 is right about the Cavalera-esque vocals. I like what I’m hearing from these guys.

Not my cup of tea but these guys look angry. I still won’t close my eyes.
