This interview with Jason Jones was a lot of fun. We asked Jason his opinions on Drowning Pool, and delved into topics such as publishing, his relationship with Jesse Jane, and much more. We also talk about Madonna, NWA, Prong, and the origin of his nickname (a pretty interesting answer was given). And most importantly, we discussed AM Conspiracy, Jason’s new band, which Darius and I thoroughly enjoy. This band has tremendous potential. Note: We like to “keep it real” on this show. We received many simple-minded emails from people stating, “Gong is [insert expletive].” We received some positive ones as well. I caused us to be nearly 40 minutes late for this spot. Gong was ready to go on-time, as was Darius. The delay was met with a, “Cool man. No problem,” from Gong. I’ve been doing this show a lot of years and have been late a handful of times. In all but two of those instances, the artist has complained or made some sort of sarcastic comment. I’ve guested on shows before as well and had that show be late, which put me in a bad mood. On this show, we take people as they come, and Gong was nothing but professional and showed us a tremendous amount of respect. Take people as they come, folks, and don’t rely on the jaded opinions of internet tough guys.
Is it me or does the new Drowning Pool sound like a good Soil album? It’s not bad but the production is crap. Whoever mixed it should be fired. Gong is a douche. I wonder what this doofus is going to say to promote his new band.
This should be interesting. DP has always been overrated. Jason should even admit that.

Ryan is the best singer out of the 3 and Dave had the best presence. STAGE was a fitting name. Gong’s voice jumps off that CD. They all fit in their own way. Full Circle is excellent btw.
i was a really big fan of drowning pool for the longest time….but thier music has kinda slowed down lately….i still enjoy them, but they’re staring to fade away….im sure not everyone agress with me, i would just like to hear your opinions about it now i write in lowercase

Ask him the questions we all want answers to and no pussyfooting like some of the other bullshit shows. WE WANT TO KNOW WHAT REALLY HAPPENED.
As much as I want the dirt, I don’t care about this band. They seem to always eek out a hit – Bodies, Step Up, 37 Stitches. They’ll be around for some time but they’ve definitely lost their sound. 5150 said it best above when he said it’s a good Soil album. This is what redefine should have been.
I’d like to hear Andrew’s thoughts on Full Circle because although he hates McCombs he has gone on record saying he enjoyed Scars and Redefine. Can someone also upload that Slayer interview from 3 years ago? That was classic.
What’s the deal with A.M. Conspiracy? I love the stuff I’ve heard but have no clue what’s going on with those guys anymore.
Drowning Pool has image probs. Those guys can’t decide wtf they are.
This was stated on AKF before but these guys were left off Crue Fest last year in favor of Trapt. It wasn’t because of a Saliva or headlining tour. Desensitized was better than Sinner and Full Circule trumps them both. Jason is my favorite singer of the 3 but Dave owned that stage. RIP.
No one even in the venue when Trapt went on! Lock Ness you must be on drugs because nothing you said makes sense. You’d think by what you said you’d like the new Soil Pool better.
I’d like to know more about AM Conspiracy and what he’s been doing for the last few years. I thought he was great in Drowning Pool before departing. That’s just me.

Find out from GONG what’s up with AM Conspiracy. I heard some shit about 3 years ago on Corporate Pun and then they dropped off. Didn’t even know they were still working on somethibng.
say what you will ryan is a great singer but he gets drowned out by bodies and step up. ive heard that mentioned on the show before and its very true. gong did the dave stuff better than ryan does. i agree with all of u about about full circle being a soil album.

The chemistry of these two is crazy. It seems Andrew wants to ask these off-beat questions and Darius wants to speak about serious topics. I love the variety of the show because I didn’t care about this drugged up fucker but it still made for good listnin’.

full circle a good soil album??? are you deaf TRUE SELF destroys that pile off crap
I hate to say it but Full Circle is a good SOiL album. I’m actually writing a piece on that now. I dig Scars, Redefine, and True Self. As far as I’m concerned, True Self might be the most solid of the three. Sure, “Halo” and “Unreal” are great tracks, and “Deny Me” is as well, but I don’t think True Self got the credit it deserved. It lacked that big single. “Give It Up” should NEVER have been the lead single. I think anyone in the band at that time can affirm that statement.
You all should check out Dirge, because from what I’ve heard so far, it’s excellent. “Forever The Martyr” and “Confession” are tremendous tracks.
Darius and I have a unique chemistry. We’re a very odd pair, because although we’re very different, we’re very much the same. I like to offbeat questions because they tend to yield offbeat answers, like the ones we got in this interview. Darius has his approach and I have mine. It makes for interesting results. In the coming weeks, we’ll perfect the audio and get it down.
I love the comment about me eating. I’ve seen that posted in the comment section of other sites as well. There was something like, “AKF sucks and the host eats.” That was priceless. I was actually interested in what Gong had to say, so I wasn’t going to eat. Maybe I’ll eat never week, or better yet, have a Slurpee. Stay tuned.
Any chance a Deftones member can come on to talk about this stuff with Chi? It’s depressing to be in the dark about all this because so much has been hidden (and maybe rightfully so) from the fans.
Jason said it couldn’t have happened to a better person and he couldn’t be more right.

I can never tell when Andrew is serious. He has one of those different minds. Something tells me he knew they weren’t a Christian band but asked and played stupid not to ask the question but to be a dick to Gong.
I can confirm firsthand that the stories you hear about Gong are true. On tour he is like a fucking child bumming shit off other people. Drugs, beer, bitches.
