Steven Adler Interview

This was one of those “expect nothing and you won’t be disappointed” situations. The picture below is worth a thousand words.

The sad reality about Steven Adler is he’s as famous for abusing drugs as he is for drumming. I am of the belief that Steven Adler isn’t doing interviews, but doing damage control and image repair. After all, once you get past the fact he’s Steven Adler from Guns N’ Roses, he’s a trainwreck. I truly hope with his current sobriety that he’s cleaned up the wreckage and put his life back on track.

I walked away from this interview with a smile on my face. Sure, Steven is a little out there, but you can’t help but root for a guy that’s put himself through hell and has taken responsibility for his actions. During the interview, Adler’s Appetite bassist Chip Z’Nuff joined us for an impromptu ten minutes to talk about Steven Adler and the overall direction and focus of the band. Chip Z’Nuff is also also the co-founder and bass player of Enuff Z’Nuff, a band I’ve followed and enjoyed for the last two decades. Chip tells a cool story about breaking into Steven Adler’s house. There’s just something visually hilarious about Chip Z’Nuff trespassing.

I want you all to put your thoughts on Steven Adler aside and listen to this show. His energy and optimism is infectious, and it’s led me to give him a second chance. If I can be converted, believe me, all of you can.

    This should be interesting.

I’ll reserve my judgment until after the spot to see if any “softballs” were lobbed.

Probably one of the main reasons I listen to this show is because the questions are never soft. Understand that in this biz some of the questions have to be this way. Kinda like when you think you’re all bad ass and then you go to work and follow orders.

I became a fan of AKF because of shows like last night. You guys have strayed from that in recent years and it’s bored me a little. Spontaneous interviews kill and last night was good.

Chip is super cool. He’s always so friendly and does excellent business. He’s a man of his word in a business filled with frauds.

The music selection prior to the broadcast was quite odd, don’t ‘ya think? In a good way, of course.

Both Chip and Steven dodged Andrew’s question. Not cool.

Thank you for noting that, Lori. I felt as if the question was dodged by the both of them as well.

It makes sense given the nature of Steven’s recent media output.

I’m disappointed in the response to this show. This is not a fluff piece. Anyone who says that doesn’t know the meaning of the term. It was a fun show. Adler is full of crap and so is Znuff but it’s FUN.

Probably the one reason I remain dedicated to this site is because there isn’t any fluff. It’s a genuine lack of fluff too. I don’t think Andrew or Darius now sits there and thinks how they’re gonna make someone look better than they are. I think they try to be respectful but honest with the listeners. Only corporate America hates that which is why we all have sold out souls, have the same haircuts and lead the same meaningless miserable lives.
