Staind Parts Ways With Drummer John Wysocki and Other Commentary
We received news over the weekend that drummer John Wysocki has parted ways with Staind after 17 years. The band will now hunt for a permanent replacement, while Will Hunt, who basically plays drums for everyone anyway, takes over behind the kit for the near future. Staind’s last studio album, The Illusion of Progress, stayed true to its title. Apparently, their upcoming album, and their last on Atlantic, will be “heavier.” That would be nice.
I don’t see how myself, or anyone can really be upset with The Illusion of Progress. First, the album title speaks for itself. And second, look at the cover art. It’s the middle of a road. It’s a no progression, middle of the road rock record. So, if that’s what they were trying to release, all the power to them because they hit the nail on the head.
Come on Aaron. We know you have another “Spleen” in you. It’s been a while since we’ve gotten it, and we’re right here waiting. COME ON!
