Def Leppard - Not Fa Fa Fa Foolin', I Love These Guys

Oh, before I begin, to the creative genius that’s going to leave a comment that says, “You’re a fa fa fa f*ggot,” you have to think a little harder.

Due to numerous requests, we are bringing back THE SONG OF THE DAY. Fortunately, we’ll be changing the name. I always get asked about the songs on my iPod. Well, this is as close as you’re going to get without actually having it in your hands. I don’t discover music on my own. A lot of it comes from listeners who shoot emails or drop instant messages. It’s just one big festival of love here at AKF. Doesn’t it make you feel warm and fuzzy?

I’m headed off to see Motley Crue tonight at Madison Square Garden. I’ve seen Motley several times and they’re a hit-or-miss live band. I’m such a fan that it doesn’t matter Vince Neil sings every fourth word. Tommy Lee is one of the best drummers in the history of rock music and Nikki Sixx is, and always will be, by far, the man. Actually, Nikki, Tommy, Vince, and Mick are Franklin, Thomas, Vincent, and Bob, but the former sounds much more cool. One of the first cassettes I ever bought was Dr. Feelgood. I really dated myself there. Heck, to date myself even more, it was from The Wiz, which was a New York-based electronics retailer that closed all its locations by 2003. I remember sitting by the television, watching MTV, and taping the videos. Feelgood was never taped over. There was way too much fire and explosions to tape over with Milli Vanilli. A review will be posted on the site after the show.

I went to Gray’s Papaya (famous hot dog place here in New York City) yesterday and noticed hot dogs were now $1.50. I remember they used to be 50 cents. Their whole selling point was volume. Interestingly enough, I still bought two, grabbed a non-alcoholic pina colada, and went on my way with my very beautiful counterpart. We were the only two people in the entire establishment that spoke English. This is the United States of America. Why is it, that in my country, I have to point to things, as if I’m the foreigner? Why do I have to give hand gestures? Shouldn’t it be the other way around? Well, we can’t say anything about that because, after all, it’s insensitive. We don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. I hate feeling like a stranger in the city where I was born.

Did anyone notice Poison and Def Leppard are touring together this summer? Weren’t they just slamming each other in the press a few months ago? Well, this Def Leppard fan is happy, because all these nice scalpers have all these great tickets that the public refuses to overpay for, which means I’m going for essentially nothing. That makes me happy. You know, as I write this, I can see the metal purists shaking their heads. They’ve just read a post about Motley Crue, Def Leppard, and Poison, where I, a martyr or metal, is proclaiming my love for these bands. And, I’m going to Fleetwood Mac Thursday. If anyone is having chest pains, my deepest apologies.

I’m just not that into Led Zeppelin and The Doors. Can anyone attempt to show me the light that nearly everyone else sees? What am I missing?

Alright, basically, THE SONG OF THE DAY is coming back. Enjoy your day.
