Interview with Buckcherry Guitarist Keith Nelson

In 2006, we interviewed Keith Nelson, guitarist and co-founder of Buckcherry.  I have not seen, nor heard this interview in close to 8 years.  The story behind this interview is that their representative at the time would only allow them to be asked certain questions.  Those certain questions were provided in advance.  As a rebuttal, I decided to do the most awkwardly boring interview possible.  Hey, if you’re going to remove our autonomy, I’m going off the script.

15 is still one of my favorite albums from the 00’s decade.  Everything after it, with the exception of “Cream” has been mediocre at best.  Oh, and Josh Todd’s solo record is one of the better nu-metal’ish records you’ve never heard.

Buckcherry tries too hard. The 1st CD and 15 were both organic. Time Bomb and everything that came after 15 they tried too hard and it was more than obvious. Sometimes I think these guys could be the biggest band in the world if they’d try to stop being something and start being themselves.
