Digital Summer is a band that everyone should start paying attention to right now. I said it during our interview with guitarist Ian Winterstein and I’ll say it again right now: they are on the cusp of nationwide recognition and maybe, hopefully, stardom. Their debut album Counting The Hours will see a nationwide release sometime soon, as soon as these guys get signed. And trust me, they will be signed.

They are with a great management company in Indegoot, who represents Sevendust, Chevelle, 10 Years, amongst many others. Their single “Just Run” is on Sirius Octane every hour. It’s a killer track that gives just a tiny glimpse into the band’s potential. Morgan Rose is a big fan and so are we. These guys are the real deal.

Our interview with Ian was a blast: it was refreshing to hear from such an eager and insightful artist. He has a good head on his shoulders. You can sense Ian realizes the band is right there and is extremely anxious to take that next step. Well, we believe it won’t be long before everyone knows the name Digital Summer. These guys created a solid album in Counting The Hours and they deliver the goods live.

In our interview we talked about the album and the challenge it has been getting it a proper release. We talked about the Sevendust tour and what a fantastic promotional vehicle it was for them: even though the guys had to travel in a Denali with a trailer for 7 weeks, living on gas station hot dogs. We talked about what it’s like having full time jobs while trying to get a band off the ground from Phoenix, Arizona. And of course, we had some laughs along the way.

Make sure you check them out whenever they tour your area next. The album, Counting The Hours, is available right now on Amazon and iTunes. Go ahead and get it now. And remember that within one year from now, when this band is on bigger tours and their album is in stores and they are making waves: that All Knowing Force told you so.

Desensitized is the only good Drowning Pool record.

I have come to the conclusion that Darius needs to lead interviews because Andrew is better in the color role.

    Digital Summer ain’t too shabby.

Guys, I must say, that 10 Years explosion was a little to synchronized and homoerotic for my taste.

@Uriah Heep: I’m unsure whether this is a compliment or an insult. Desensitized is my favorite Drowning Pool album.

@KARNOV: You might be right about that.

If Morgan Rose or anyone from Digital Summer turns up dead in the near future, I think we have a suspect.

Did Andrew take the high road during that Arizona discussion or what? Dude, you so don’t feel that way!

I never heard of this band until now. Reinventing the wheel they don’t but better than 99% of the crap floating out there now.

  • Hang said:

@1942: It’s impossible to “reinvent the wheel” in 2010. It’s all been done.

Hey Drew, what do you think about the Amare trade?

  • ALL KNOWING FORCE: Andrew Bilach said:

@MF12: Actually, you have a suspect, but it won’t be Darius. He can’t live without Sevendust, so I’m sure he’d join the hunt for the real killer.

@Ramirez: If you’re going to take a playful stab at someone, spell the word right. It’s DROOL.

&& just so ya’ll know Digital Summer is the farthest from anything generic, this band is made up of 5 genuine hard working down to earth guys. They all have normal lives on top of their music career. They have done everything on their own without a record label and still managed to have their album in stores. They love their fans and the promote their own shows. Other bands should take a tip from them.

They are the BEST band! They work so hard to get their music the way they want it and to get it out there. These guys are the most humble, sweet and down to earth people. Their fan base has grown drastically in the years I’ve known them and I know it will continue to grow. I’m so proud of them and what they have accomplished, and cannot wait for them to make it big…I know it will happen. 😉

@Laura In NJ: You’ve heard of them now. You live in New Jersey. Most people have never heard of the names of any cities or towns in your state. It’s a joke, Laura. It’s a playful joke.

    @Carla: Great minds think alike.

@StrmChsr: I thought you were the type to take the George Carlin approach to voting.

@Katie: @Lisa S: @Jillian Fraser: @Gabrielle: Unless there are some androgynous male fans of Digital Summer, the females appear to love them (judging by the posting names).
