I’m not saying Kix was a glam band, because they were most certainly not…but, of all the bands to come out of the 80’s, Kix is one of the best you’ll see live. And I’ve seen them all. I got my start with Midnite Dynamite, and I was a fan ever since. We thank Brian “Damage” Forsythe for taking the opportunity to speak with us about all things Kix, and their first record in nearly two decades, Rock Your Face Off. -Andrew

There isn’t a longtime visitor to this site that does not know the name Rex Brown. Most of us grew up blasting Pantera at earsplitting volumes. I went through 3 or 4 copies of Vulgar Display of Power. Some copies were stolen by friends, while some were played to death…literally. Rex Brown is truly a legend in the music business. If not for Metallica and Pantera, I might just be listening to Adelita’s Way or Pop Evil right now. Rex’s new band, Kill Devil Hill is worth your time investigating. It was an honor to have him on the show.

This interview has never appeared on our new site. It was conducted back in 2006, right at the time 15 was exploding. Unfortunately, they’ve not been able to duplicate the success of 15 on their last three albums. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing the band live numerous times, in venues such as the Middle East in Cambridge, MA, the Webster in Hartford, Webster Hall, and Irving Plaza. In a live setting, they’re excellent, but with the quality of the last three albums, I’m not really looking forward to what comes next.

We encourage all our listeners to check out this interview, and more important, get out to an Eve 6 show. “Oh, aren’t they that ‘Inside Out’ band?” Or, “Didn’t they play that ‘Here’s to the Night’ song?” Forget that. Their live show will make you forget those songs even exist. It doesn’t get much more infectious than Eve 6. Masterful live.

I remember purchasing Let Your Dim Light Shine in the mid-90’s. By then, they weren’t cool anymore. Bush was dominating the airwaves. Korn was popularizing nu-metal. Maybe “Misery” was a little silly. Maybe it was too much too fast. Still, somehow, Dave Pirner, through his goofy lyrics and odd demeanor managed to find a place in my musical heart. Their latest album, Delayed Reaction was released in 2012. Inside, you’ll find some commentary and an interview we did with Dave before Soul Asylum’s fall 2013 co-headlining run with Fountains of Wayne.

Almost 20 years after Rotting Pinata went gold, Sponge frontman Vinnie Dombroski sat down with All Knowing Force to discuss their seventh and latest studio album, Stop the Bleeding. After seeing them twice this past summer: once opening the 2013 Summerland Tour, and once headlining in Boston, I can safely reiterate something I’ve believed all along: this is one of the most criminally underrated rock bands in history. Enjoy the interview.

It’s not everyday a band comes around that piques my interest. Memphis rockers Surrender The Fall don’t reinvent the wheel, but they exude unrivaled passion and honesty on their first LP “Burn In The Spotlight.” I want you all to take a listen to this interview and give them a few minutes of your time.
Cinderella, Music Interviews »
Cinderella isn’t as well known as some of their 80’s contemporaries, but they definitely are some of the most respected. While bands like Poison and Faster Pussycat reveled in simplicity, Cinderella’s songwriting possessed a maturity foreign to the rest of the genre. With his 2013 solo record, , Tom Keifer has released an album that make the 80’s seem like a distant memory.
