Buried Treasures – Discover New Music – 11/15/10

I still don’t understand why people were fascinated by photos of Glenn Danzig buying cat food in recent weeks. I was never a “Mother” guy, but really dig songs like “She Rides” and “Five Finger Crawl.”

Thank you, Sirius Octane, for introducing me to Sugar Red Drive. The track is called “One More Time” and is very Breaking Benjamin and very awesome.

I’ve always loved me some punk rock music. I’ll never forget the time a listener had the audacity to convince me Good Charlotte was a punk rock band. They were influenced by punk rock bands, and we all know they made more money than nearly all the originals, but no one will remember them in twenty years. And actually, no one remembers them now. This song needs to be played loud and only loud. The Cockney Rejects are the band, and the song is “Bad Man.” Can’t believe it’s 30 years old.

Remixes can be dreadful, and in the case of this Underoath remix, can be quite pleasurable. This track comes off the Deluxe Edition of their latest release 0 (Disambiguation). It’s the remix for “Paper Lung.”

The Cockney Rejects are one of those bands that make you want to take action. I listen to them and I want to stand up for something despite having nothing to stand up for.

    Kudos for recognizing them.
